Mrs. Polly Hyde, 67, Springfield passed away at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005 in Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Polly was born June 24, 1937 in Ash Grove, Missouri to Willie A. and Annalaura (Malicoat) Brooks. She was a Parent Advocate for the Association for Retarted Citizens and the Greene County Retarded Citizens Association and volunteered for the Developmental Center of the Ozarks. Polly was a loving mother, loyal friend who would offer great support, and straight advice for family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex Hyde; and her brother, Billy Joe Brooks.
She is survived by her children, Bob "Pete" Jordan of Las Vegas, NV, Ron Jordan of Springfield, Randy Jordan of Rogersville, Reno Hyde of Springfield and Terry Swineberg of Springfield; her grandchildren, Janelle Turney, Nicole Luning, Vanessa Holt, Summer Wade, Sami Jordan, and Ashley Jordan; 9 great grandchildren; her siblings, Tudie Lazaro of Springfield, Fred Brooks of Ash Grove, Connie McCall of Springfield, and Wanda Donovan of Springfield.
An informal memorial gathering will be from 2 pm to 4 pm Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut. A second gathering will follow at the Scenic Cafe, if attending RSVP Lee at the cafe at Scenic and Mt. Vernon phone 862-8841.
