Philip Allen Van Camp,76, Half way, MO, went to Heaven at 3:26pm, Friday, Jan.26,2018 in his home.
He was the firstborn, Aug.25, 2018 in San Diego, CA to Philip and Mary Van Camp. He attended Columban Fathers junior seminary, Mater Dei Highschool, Santa Ana College, Orange Coast College, and Cal State Fullerton. He married Margaret Larson June 25, 1966 at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Orange County, CA. Phil worked as a State Police Officer for the state of CA for 25 years. He was a Life Professed 3rd Order Dominican in the Riverside, CA St. Andrews Chapter. He was a lifelong student of religion, history, and politics. Phil was a voracious reader with a great vocabulary. He was a great family man, a beloved husband and father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be missed for his humor, conversation, and loving devotion to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brother Steve, and his wife Margaret.
He is survived by his sister Sister Angela of Company of Mary, brother Richard, his children daughter Ramona, son Michael, and grandchildren Helena, Carolynn, Leo, and Nathaniel.
The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Feb.3, 2018 at 11am in Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Fr. Pat Wissman celebrant. Under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut, Springfield, MO.
