Philip Charles Boggess departed this life on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the age of 97. He was born in Seymour, Missouri on October 31, 1921, the son of John and Ernestine Boggess. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Lavonne, of 72 years, three daughters; Judy, Karen (Paul), and Sandee (Wayne), four granddaughters; Sara (Ryan), Laura (Jeb), Ashley (Robert), and Betsi, four great grandchildren; Gracie, Ryan, Scout, Stella, and his brother Kenneth.
Phil was a World War II veteran, serving with the 4th Infantry division at the Battle of the Bulge. He worked at KWTO radio station with the Ozark Jubilee. He went to work at Zenith Corp. in 1967 and retired in 1988. Phil was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a true believer in God.
Phil’s good humor and congenial personality will be missed by all who knew and loved him, he was an outstanding husband, father, PaPaw, and friend – He was very Patriotic and loved God and was a true believer. He will be loved and remembered forever.
Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Virginia, and brother John.
A visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Wesley United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held immediately afterwards in the church with Pastor Gary Griffin officiating. He will be interred at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
