Paul Farr

Paul L. Farr, 87, Springfield, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Cox South Hospital. He was born January 3, 1924 in Webster County Missouri to Elmer and Annie (Rost) Farr. He was married to Susan (Holmes) Farr for 31 years. Paul always said she was the love of his life. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Everett, Ival and Charles Farr and three sisters; Veda Tillman, Thelma Baugher and Hazel Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Susie; one son, Timothy Paul Farr and wife, Viki; two grandchildren, Melissa Farr and her husband Gary Kazanjian, and Bryan Paul Farr and his wife, Jackie; two sisters, Shirley Karas, Plainfield IL and Maxine Marcum of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Paul worked for Trail Mobile, then the Paul Mueller Company. He was a Shriner and was a member of the Shrine Marching Patrol. Paul was very proud of receiving his 50 year pin as a member of The Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge #422. He volunteered for the Red Cross, attaining 20 years this past March. He and Susie were Ambassadors at the Springfield Branson Airport. He never knew a stranger. Paul loved bowling and was an avid Lady Bears Fan.

Paul was a very kind and loving man and everyone loved him. Special thanks are to be given to Terri McBurney and her late husband, Al who was Paul’s best friend. Also special thanks to Sue King.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 in Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastors Jim Massey and Gene Marcum officiating under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday preceding the funeral in the church.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or Wesley United Methodist Church.
