Patsy L. Gard was born September 2, 1934 in Ft. Cobb, Ok. to Beulah and Henry R. Horn, and passed away on March 15, 2010 of heart failure. She and her husband of 35 years, John W. Gard owned the "Auction Barn" for 28 years before retiring in 1998.
She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Editha and husband Craig Simmons of Republic; and son, James E. Gentry III of Halfway. She also had three grandchildren, Sarah Strecker of Battlefield, James E. Gentry IV of Wichita, KS, and John David Gentry of Willow Springs, along with three great grandchildren.
She liked to read, sew, and most of all, sell on Ebay. She was an independent, hard-working woman who loved her "puppies" and going to auctions with John when not on her computer. She created many friends while "auctioning" and will be truly missed by all.
She was a great and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as being a true friend to those who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday March 22, 2010 with Rev. Tommy Loving officiating in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. Committal services will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
