Patricia Scott

Patricia Jeanne Scott, 84, of Springfield, passed away at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Birch Pointe Health and Rehabilitation in Springfield, Missouri.

Pat was born on October 15, 1940, in Springfield, Missouri to Aaron and Peggy (Clanton) Clawson. She graduated from Central High School. Pat married James Donald Scott on March 3, 1961. To this marriage, two sons, Dan and Sam, were born.

For a short time, Pat worked as a secretary at Lily Tulip. Later, she worked in the kitchen at Kickapoo High School. There she made many life-long friends, who are still getting together for lunch to this day. Pat enjoyed crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and cross stitching. The cross stitch Christmas stockings which she made for her children and grandchildren are cherished works of art. She loved to play games, especially with her family. After raising her boys, Pat excelled at being a grandma, attending every sporting event and music concert possible. Pat never met a roller coaster she wouldn’t ride, and she loved her time with her grandchildren at Silver Dollar City. Pat always had a smile on her face, and she made sure she was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that she could be. She loved the Lord, and the family takes great comfort in knowing that her Alzheimer's and frail body are no more, as she is now in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Peggy Clawson. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Donald Scott; children Daniel (Brooke) Scott, Samuel (Angela) Scott; grandchildren Nicole (Brandon) Newingham, Andrew (Ivy) Scott, Benjamin (Brandy) Scott, Alexander (Victoria) Scott; great grandchildren Taylor Newingham, Hayden Newingham, Haylee Newingham, Greyson Newingham, Kaydence Scott, and Kenasynn Scott. She is also survived by a brother, Michael (Barbara) Clawson, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
