Pamela Susan Sutherland

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Pamela Susan Sutherland announce her death on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 74. She died peacefully in her home with her husband, two sons, and nephew by her side.

Pam was born on December 4, 1950, in Marion, Ohio, to James and Donna Noggle. Her family made a home in Springfield, Missouri in the late 1950’s where she lived all her life. She graduated from Parkview High School in 1969 and married her high school sweetheart, Donnie, on June 3, 1970. Two boys, Jeffrey Scott and David Lee, were born to the couple. She was a stay-at-home mother by choice for the first ten years of marriage and then went to cosmetology school to learn to cut and style hair, which she did throughout the years. She also worked at Famous Barr & May Company in human resources until her retirement.

Pam’s capacity for love was limitless. She loved her daughter-in-law Brittany and her grandchildren Eli, Gabe, and Katie with all her heart. Her door was always open to all family, friends, and pets, and her home was a safe zone for anyone in need. Her fashion sense was impeccable and her wardrobe vast, and she loved getting dressed to the nines. She loved to cook and fill her home with amazing smells. Pam never met a stranger and had a genuine interest in people from all backgrounds. She hosted foreign exchange students during the summers to help bring a part of the world here and us all closer together. She loved sports and became the housing coordinator for Springfield Spirit Junior A Hockey Team, mothering and housing numerous hockey boys for years. She was a lifelong member of the Cousins Club, an exclusive club you were either born, or married, into. She was a natural caregiver and nursed for and cared for her mother, her older brother, and aunts and uncles throughout the years and until their deaths. She was a dedicated mother whose love for her sons is eternal and infinite. She was the soulmate and best friend to her husband of almost 55 years and she is undoubtedly waiting for him on the other side.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses at Access Hospice. There are indeed angels in Springfield.
