Otto Braun

Otto Braun, 93, of Coeur d'Alene passed away on May 8, 2008, at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1914, in Strausburg, N. D. to Michael and Katherine Braun.

He was the youngest of nine children, and the last surviving child. After high school he attended nursing school at Alexian Brothers Hospital (an all male hospital) in St. Louis. He worked in the operating room until World War II started. He served in the Coast Guard until the end of the war.

Otto married Rebecca Richardson and had seven children, six boys and one girl. He moved to Post Falls, after the death of his first wife, Becky, to be near his daughter.

Otto is survived by his wife, Clarise Braun; seven children: Michael Braun, Robert Braun, James Braun, John Braun, Tom Braun, Mary Braun, and Joe Braun; three stepchildren: Dean Webb, Janet Hodly, and Clark Webb; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 14, 2008 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Bravo Team under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday with prayer services starting at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
