Otis Stinnett

Van loved his friends and family whole heartily. He was a construction worker by day. His greatest passion, however, was his love for music.
He learned to play the bass guitar while serving in the military. He played professionally for many years while living in California. He toured for awhile with Merle Haggard. It was one of his proudest accomplishments.
In the early 90’s, Van moved his family back to the Fordland area where he was born and raised. He eventually gave up construction and spent the rest of his life picking the guitar and singing his song for anyone who would listen.
Van was always an honest man. He would have given his last dime or the shirt off his back if someone needed. He held no value in material possessions. Van accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior several years before his passing.
Van Stinnett lived his life a free man. He worked hard, played hard, and he always did his own thing.
We love you “Old Man,” you will be greatly missed.
