Obe Gideon Everett, 74, Stotts City, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2005 in St. John's Hospital, after a battle with cancer.

He was born July 4, 1931 in Seymour, Missouri to Charles and Tobitha (Cantrell) Everett. He grew up in Seymour and attended school there and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. In 1963, he joined the Laborers International Union 676 and retired from that in 2003. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge of Springfield since 1997.

Mr. Everett was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; his parents; four sisters, Ester Rader, Betty Doll Rader, Tishe Goins, and Mary Kathrine Rader; and one brother, Carl Rader.

He is survived by his fiancee and long-time friend, Floretta Swearingin, Stotts City, of the home; seven sons, including Charley E. Estes, Christopher D. Estes, Stotts City, two daughters and seven grandchildren ; four brothers, Leroy Everett, Tulsa, OK, Charlie, Frank and Fred Everett, California; half-sister, Judy Harlan, Texas; and former wives Joanna Togia, Hawaii, Wilma Everett, Saint Clare, CA, and Amy Robb Bryant of Rogersville, MO.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2005 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
