April 19, 1933 – September 3, 2020

Sue Sias passed away on September 3, 2020 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri after suffering a severe stroke at her home on August 25, 2020.

Sue was employed with Southwestern Bell and AT&T from 1962-1998 starting in Springfield, Missouri and retiring in Jacksonville, Florida. She enjoyed volunteer work with the Telephone Pioneers and a supportive member with C.W.A. (Communications Workers of America).

In life her favorite things were getting together with family and friends. Sue loved her family and cherished them so much. She enjoyed playing cards such as Hand and Foot, Canasta, and Uno at Doling Park Community Center, Mexican Train and Uno with family, reading, going to movies, and listening to her favorite radio station WTXR.

Sue loved to laugh and make people laugh with her sharp wit and sense of humor. She always wanted to treat people with care and consideration. Her favorite passage was “Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you”.

Sue was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Peck and her son, Steven Ray Sias.

Sue is survived by her longtime friend, Ray Sias of Fair Grove, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Randi Sue & Michael D. Hesslink of Springfield, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, John and Sandra Peck of Wheatland, Missouri; sister-in-law, Martha Black of Springfield, Missouri; granddaughter and husband, Stacy and Jared Hanafin; great grandsons, Kenneth, Maverick and Gus Hanafin all of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews and cousins in Missouri, Colorado and Texas.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri.
