Nicholas Nicholas Economou was born on June 11, 1921, and died on February 5, 2008.

Nic was born in Nashua, New Hampshire. He went to high school at St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering from Worcester, Massachusetts. Nic served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. In 1948, he married Eleanor Foley in Mt. Vernon, New York. Nic and Eleanor moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they raised five children. Nic owned and operated Western Road Machinery Company, and served as President of the national trade association, Associated Equipment Distributors (AED). Nic and Eleanor moved to Springfield, Missouri, when he retired in 1998.

He is predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Viola Economou, and his four brothers, Arthur, John, Mike and Fred. He is survived by Eleanor and his children and their spouses, Lynn and John Walters, Trish and James Saccomano, Gail and Eric Gudell, Ellen and Bob Rohr and Jim Economou. His surviving grandchildren and their spouses are Becky and Jason Elia, Christian and Monique Frech, Patrick Walker, Max Rohr, Rachel Economou, Kelly Grudell and Jackson Economou. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Bette Anne Foley.

He was "Uncle Nic" to cousins John and Janet DeVito and Anthony and Dineen Devito and their children Nicholas DeVito, Jaime and Ryan Riley, Kyle DeVito, Jordan DeVito, Tyler Devito and Sheridan DeVito.
