Neil F. Compton died at his home from A.L.S. on February 11, 2007. His wife Penelope, sisters Connie Murphy and Donna Deven, and brother Willie Compton and three children, Katherine Compton, Charles Compton, and Athena Pond, and eight grandchildren survive him.
Neil was born in Blue Eye, MO, on July 2, 1933. After graduating from high school in Oxnard, Ca he served with distinction in the Navy during the Korean War. He began his law enforcement career after college with the Port Hueneme Police Department and from there was Special Agent Chief of the State of Wyoming Criminal division. He was a highly respected and decorated officer of law in California, Wyoming, and Colorado. Prior to his retirement in 1994 Neil was a consultant in criminal and labor law.
Neil was respected and loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in California. The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions can be given to the A.L.S. foundation.
