Nancy Margaret Slezak, 77 of Springfield passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2024. She was born March 10, 1947 in Los Angeles County California.
She loved crocheting, Pepsi, pie, helping people, working, church, her family, the color blue, playing games on her phone, BLT "extra mayo" and ice cream.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Sally (Rombalski) Bruss, her son Mark Jason Slezak.
She is survived by her son, Scott Slezak (Sonja), her granddaughter, Staycia Slezak, her nieces, Kelly and Karen, and every adopted person she ever cared about. She was a mother to all.
From Sonja: I came into the family late and Momma Nancy took me in and made me feel at home. She was always a rock for anyone who needed her and that's how I will always honor and love her. When we lived together she always made sure I was taken care of from eating food, praying together and even crocheting together. She truly was a mother to us all in some way, shape, or form. I know she will always look down on us and be proud that we will take care of each other to the fullest.
From Scott: My mother was the most amazing person on this planet. She gave more to more people than any other human being, the amount of love she had to give was infinite. My mom was everything to me, she was not only my mother, she was my doctor, my accountant, my mentor, my hero and my best friend.
A memorial mass will be at 11 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Kiefer celebrant. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the mass in the church.
