Mona Burks

Mona Burks (Yameen), 54, Springfield, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at her home.

Mona was born in Dayton, Ohio to Munir (Rick) and Barbara Yameen. She attended Park Hill High School where she graduated in 1980.

She was a homemaker who loved to cook and share good humor served up with flavorful food drawing on her Norwegian and Palestinian heritages.

Mona is survived by her son Bradley Nathan (Ginger), grandsons Kai and Tyler, daughter Anna Nathan, mother Barbara Plumb (Don), father Munir Yameen (Diane), sister Kimberly Reid (Kirk), brother Jamiel Yameen (Linda), nieces and nephews Julienne Stickney (Andrew), Tarik Yameen and Camille Yameen.

Visitation will be Monday, March 21 at 12:00 Noon followed by Memorial service at 1:00 at Church of the Redeemer, 7110 NW Highway 9, KCMO 64152.

Mona was a big lover of animals big and small, in lieu of flowers donations suggested to Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, 3161 W. Norton Road, Springfield, MO 65803
