Mildred Hodge

Mildred J. Hodge passed away Monday April 29, 2013 at 5:20 p.m. in Mercy Villa in Springfield, MO at the age of 95 years, 3 months, and 29 days.
She was born in Denver, Colorado on December 31, 1917. She was employed at the University of Kansas in the Microbiology Department for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Carl Hodge and her son Carl Jr. (Glenn).
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Caywood and her husband Mike Sanchez of Springfield; 6 grandchildren, Ty Cates (Vera) of Lawrence, KS, Tami Iverson (Neal) of Dallas, TX, Tracy Maupin (William) of Columbia, MO, Tina Cates of Lawrence, KS, Toni Cates of Aurora, CO, and Tiffany Tallman (Keith) of Highlands Ranch, CO; 12 great grandchildren and 10 great, great, grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Jean Thomas and Patricia Prough, both from Schell City, MO.
Per her wishes, Mildred was cremated. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Lawrence, KS. Memorial may be sent in her memory to Mercy Villa, 1100 E. Montclair Springfield, MO 65807 and/or Mercy Hospice, 1570 W. Battlefield Suite 110 Springfield, MO 65807.
Our family would like to thank all staff of Mercy Villa for their invaluable care and all the love they gave to Momma. You made a difference in her last days.
