Michael E. Kearney, 56, Springfield, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 12th, 2013 in his home.
He was born November 26, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph Kearney and Mary Anita (Mickey) Oney. Mike was an extremely intelligent man who loved working with his hands. He made a living by being a Contractor, best known for his ability to hang wallpaper, painting, and various other traits. He loved reading the comics every Sunday while having his coffee. In earlier years he would hunt for deer, squirrel, and rabbit, along with fishing or anything to do with the outdoors. His greatest love was always his two girls, Heather and Sarah. He was an amazing father who instilled incredible values, morals, God, and love into them.
He is survived by his two daughters, Heather and Sarah Kearney, grandchild Ella Kearney, ex-wife Maria Kirchner of Palmyra, VA, mother Mary Doucet (Mickey), sisters Michele Flood of Springfield MO, Cheryl Kearney Wayne of St. Louis MO, brothers John and Tim Howard, Ohio and Minnesota respectively, nephews; Christopher and Michael Kearney, Seth Flood, Christian Shirk, Henry Wayne and nieces; Suzy Kearney, Ashlyn Shirk and Nicky Wayne, great niece Anna Marie, uncle Jim Shaw, cousin Stephanie Shaw, and various other family members.
He is preceded in death by Joseph Patrick Kearney I, Joseph Patrick Kearney II, Joseph Patrick Kearney III, Mark Kearney, Mavis Oney, and Highland Lafayette Oney.
Memorial Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18th, 2013 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut.
