Michael D. Havens, 52, Aldrich, MO passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in St. John's Hospital. He was born at St. John's Hospital November 10, 1957 to Jack and Loretta Havens.

Michael attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and Springfield Catholic High School where he met his wife of thirty years, Kim. They married on December 15, 1979. He was a wonderful father and friend to his two sons, Nathan and Jacob.

Michael worked as a police officer for Branson Police Department from 1980-1985. He then became a Greene County Deputy from 1985 until 1992. After leaving law enforcement, he applied siding for a few years until he was hired in the maintenance team with Battlefield Mall. For the last year and four months he was a security officer at Ozarks Community Hospital in Springfield.

Michael enjoyed deer hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of James River Bass Club for a few years with his brother Mark. Other than his family, fishing was the love of his life. He was finally able to fulfill his dream of living "two minutes away" from a boat dock in 2007 when he and his family moved to Aldrich, MO by Stockton Lake. There he spent many wonderful hours fishing with his two sons.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Mark Havens.

Survivors include his wife Kim Havens of the home, two sons, Nathan and Jacob Havens, one brother J.C. Havens and wife Paula of Nixa, MO.

Michael never met a stranger and leaves behind many grieving friends and family members. We will all miss him very much.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday May 19, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home Chapel.
