Melvin William Robinson, age 82, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri.
He was born on June 13, 1936 in Springfield, Missouri the son of Homer Robinson and Edith E. (Hale) Robinson.
Melvin was a longtime resident of Evergreen Group Home in Bolivar Missouri. He was always happy, loved being outdoors, sitting on the porch swing, watching the birds and animals. He favorite color was green. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing along with songs. He always shook everyone’s hand as no one was ever a stranger to him. That’s just who he was. Melvin was a unique individual to say the least and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Edith Robinson; two brothers, Albert Robinson, Lee Robinson; one sister-in-law, Carol Robinson, and his paternal & maternal grandparents.
Melvin is survived by Melinda Brayfield and family, Patricia Lockmiller and family all of Springfield, Missouri; his caretakers who were family to Melvin, Lois Davis, Jenifer Dixon, Mark Jefferis (who is also going to be a pallbearer), Alice Brubeck, Mercedes Baugher, Rachel Caddell, Charmain Purvis, Ashley Mumm, Cheryl Sommers, Keith Drummond, Sean Wade and the Springfield Reginal Center Staff members.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 13, 2018 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel with Reverend Gray Nordan officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Springfield.
