Maxilee Roberts

Maxilee Roberts born March 2, 1931 was by her own admission a “thinker”. She enjoyed college and graduated from SMSU in 1976. She became a teacher’s assistant and shared many stories which of course gave her great satisfaction. She raised her children with her husband, Richard C. Roberts, and took great pride in actually knowing them. She predicted many of their endeavors with uncanny accuracy.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Chase Hodge, of Rochester, NY, Patricia Nilsson, of Springfield, Mo, Cathy Konicek, of Gainesville, FL, Jackie Van deventer (Bob) of Costa Rica, and Richard C. Roberts II (Cindy), of Springfield, Mo. Grandchildren, Kirstie Lopez (Manuel), Kerrie Lynn Sanchez (Steve), Jimmy Hodge (Molly) and Brian Hackney (Athena). And great grandchildren, Chelsea Rene Maynard, Jessica Lynn Maynard, Hilen and Hirahm Lopez, and Patrick and Audrey Hodge. Last but not least great great grandchild, Carson Lee Feichter, who she called the vision of hope and comfort.

Maxilee was preceded in her passing by her husband, Richard C. Roberts; grandson, Shawn Woods; and son-in-law, James Hodge.

Maxilee was a friend to many, especially Jackie Whillans (Wylans), Christine Berig, and Martha Anderson.

She will be missed by all but remain in our hearts. May she now rest in peace.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday January 6, 2013 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street.
