Max Sorey

Max Allen Sorey 75, Springfield, died at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004 in Cox Medical Center-South. Max was born Sept. 22, 1929 in Woodbine, Iowa to Lloyd and Ida Caroline (Condron) Sorey. He had resided in the Springfield area for many years. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War, and had worked in telephone construction, until his retirement. He was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Surviving Max is his wife Barbara, who together celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary in July of 2004. Also surviving are sons, Allen and wife Jeannette, Gary and wife Laurie; grandchildren Robert, Theresa, Lanae, Sloan, and Lindsay. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2004 in St.Agnes Cathedral, with Father Mike McDevitt celebrant.Burial with military rites by the Veterans' Memorial Team, will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Scripture Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 East Walnut, with visitation to follow. Memorial Donations may be made to the St. Agnes Cathedral; 533 South Jefferson Ave., Springfield, Mo. 65806. The Family would like to thank Dr. Robert Saylor and his staff as well as The Dialysis Center of the Ozarks for their fine care and support.
