Penny (Mary) Smail, 71 of Rogersville passed away Friday Jan. 9, 2015 as a result of injuries she received in an automobile accident in Springfield, Missouri.
Penny was born October 26, 1943 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to Hubert and Margaret (Klingensmith) Smail. She was a very caring and giving person who enjoyed helping others. Penny enjoyed traveling and has traveled extensively throughout Europe visiting many countries. She lived for her grandkids and loved to knit hats and sew for them. Grammy also loved to shop so she could send presents to her grandkids and enjoyed reading to them.
She is survived by her daughter, Emilia Marques of Castle, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Tru Lee Thompson and Cassidy Thompson; her sister, Edwina Harper (Gary); of Rogersville, Missouri; her niece, Heather Roderick (Russell) of Carl Junction, Missouri; her nephew, Warren Harper of Rogersville, Missouri (Carrie); her great nieces and great nephews, Rebekah and Rachel Harper and Justus and Silas Roderick.
There will be a “Time of Remembrance” for family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday January 17, 2015 in the Rogersville Area Senior Center 197 Marshall Street Rogersville, MO 65742 – phone 417-753-7800.
