Mary Mckee

Mary Elizabeth McKee, daughter of Hiram and Elda Moran, was born on September 20,1941 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She went to her heavenly home on February 14th, 2023. She passed peacefully in her sleep from her home in Springfield MO.

She was born into a Primitive Baptist family. She had her own profession of faith at a young age. She loved to sing for God and her church. You would often find her humming her favorite gospel hymns. She is preceded in death by her father Hiram and Mother Elda Moran , brothers Wayne and Jerry Moran, sister Lois Gail, and her loving husband LeRoy.

LeRoy and Mary were married on September 15th, 1961. They had three beautiful children. Mary always said all she wanted in life was to be a wife and mother. Her family was everything to her. She was known by all who knew her, for her incredible southern cooking. Some of the best memories were made with her working around the kitchen. She grew up in a family of singers. She would turn heads when anyone would hear her sing.

She always tried to look her best with her hair always done and her mauve lipstick on. She looked forward to her weekly appointment to the beauty shop, her daily trip for sweet tea, lunches out with loved ones and family evening talks.

LeRoy and Mary built a beautiful life together including their business La Mexican Kitchen in Lebanon, MO. She was a cancer survivor and a very strong woman no matter what life brought her . She was selfless and caring to everyone. Mary always was ready to accommodate anyone. She worked hard to always be there for her family.

She is survived by son Brian McKee and wife Gloria of Fort Smith Arkansas, daughter Lorrie Southard and husband Brad of Fordland Missouri, daughter Marsha Cook and husband Raliegh of Petersburg Alaska, brother Dwight Moran and wife Judy of Hackett Arkansas, and sister Martha Shrum and husband Danny. She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren plus many extended family and friends who loved her.
