Mary Ann Kutz, 74, passed away at 6:47 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Cox Hospital North. She was born November 19, 1930 in Springfield, Missouri to Paul and Bess Baron. Mary Ann attended St. Joseph Elementary School, and graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1948. On September 1, 1951 she married Jerome M. Kutz. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active in the Sacred Heart Building Committee, Sacred Heart Angels, the Eucharistic Ministry, the Choir, Heart to Heart and was a Lector. She was the newsletter editor for SKP Motor Home Club, a gift shop volunteer for the Springfield Public Library and a friend to all. Mary Ann retired from the Springfield Catholic Diocese where she was the assistant to the editor of the newspaper, The Mirror. She also helped with the Kidney Foundation Ride for Life, and traveled extensively with her husband, Jerome, in their motor home. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jerome Kutz; nine children and their spouses, Robert and Kippie Kutz, Raymond Kutz, Carol and Dave Wright, Kathleen and Brad Meyen, Brian Kutz, Dianne and Dennis Powelson, Annette and Joe Melies, Gerald and Lorrie Kutz, Roger and Kerra Kutz; ten grandchildren, Kimberley and Forrest Meyen, Daniel Wright, Sara Kutz, Aaron Bodus, Kristen and Derek Melies, Kelsi Kutz, Evan and Benjamin Kutz; six brothers and sisters, Paula Howard, David Baron, Xavior Baron, Richard Baron, Marty Baron and Tena Baron; her in-laws, Laverne & Margaret Kutz, Fred and Delores Kutz; and many other family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Bess Baron, mother in-law Rose Kutz , and in-laws, Fred and Florence Eck, Patsy Kutz, and Charles Howard. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2005 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1609 N. Summit Avenue, Springfield, with Father Joseph Peplansky, CMF, celebrant. Burial will be in Marshfield Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2005 with prayer services starting at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
