Mark Shelby

Mark V. Shelby of Nixa passed away on Monday, August 26, in his home. Born on Jan. 28, 1953, Mark loved a good joke, a plate of home-style cooking, and time spent with his wife and friends at Nixa General Baptist.

After moving to the Springfield area in the 1990’s, he met Constance (Connie) Shelby. The two were married on Dec. 12, 1998.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Mark inherited a passion for the Cardinals from his parents, who raised their two kids on church, baseball, Boy Scouts, and camping.

Mark spent much of his work life in sales and marketing, and was an advocate of natural and organic foods and products. He loved playing pool with a favorite buddy and had a soft spot for dogs. He is survived by his wife Connie, his mother Lois Shelby, and many friends and extended family members in Missouri and beyond.

Mark was preceded in death by his father James W. Shelby, and his brother, Brent E. Shelby. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Mark Shelby has been established at TelComm.

Memorial Services for Mark will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Nixa General Baptist Church.
