Mark Jonathon Houston, 68, Republic, passed away on January 27, 2014.
He was born on January 27, 1946 in Long Beach, California to Caroll Irene Norton. He attended schools in West Covina, California. Mark worked as a cook on the Alaskan pipeline, kitchen manager, and dietician in Alhambra, California. Before moving to Republic, Mo to care for his mother, he lived in Carson City, Nevada, where he had many lifelong friends. He lived in Republic, Mo the past 7 years caring for his mother and working at an auto auction in Springfield, MO.
Mark is much loved and admired, by his family and many friends gained throughout his lifetime, for his forgiving and caring nature. He has one niece and one nephew named after him, a small honor to the person he was.
Mark always loved cars, fishing and nature. Although Mark lived many places, he always felt his true home was in Carson City, Nevada.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday February 17, 2014 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St. in Springfield, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice in honor of Mark Houston.
