Marjorie Haslag

Marjorie L (Bolton) Haslag, 94, Springfield, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016.
She was born March 20, 1922 in Moberly, MO to Peter and Jessie Bolton. Marjorie served in the Women’s Air Corp during World War II.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Harry; her parents; siblings, Mary Kitchen, Grace Lamboy, Alma Colburn and five brothers, Francis, Jacob, Earl, Robert, and James.
She is survived by her three children; Robert Haslag and his wife, Stephanie, Rebecca Zilm and her husband, Jeff, and Joseph Haslag and his wife Sara; six grandchildren, Randall Hawkins, Morgan Koenig, Devin LaPlant, Elizabeth Goebel, Stephen Haslag, and Peter Haslag; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
Mom loved and trusted the Lord. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and gave freely to those around her. She had a dry, joyful sense of humor. She volunteered for many years at the St. Agnes school cafeteria. Through each opportunity, she offered a warm smile, an encouraging word, and a motherly pat-on-the-back. In all, she was a wonderful example, reflecting what loving and serving others looks like. For these attributes, we celebrate her life.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in St. Agnes Cathedral under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, July 12 in the funeral home with Rosary services starting at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Catholic Schools or The Kitchen.
