Marilyn Helen Grayless (nee Johnson), 84 of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. She was born May 25, 1929 in Willmar, MN to Malcolm Rueben and Helen Laura Johnson. She married Fay Norton Grayless July, 1948 in Savannah, IL. She was retired from Dillard’s Department Store after working there for 28 years.
Marilyn lived life to its fullest, enjoying family and friends especially her grandchildren. She loved gardening, arts and crafts, music and books, and summer and winter sporting activities.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Allen Grayless; a sister, Kathryn Helen Johnson; and Fay Grayless.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Lynn Faye, Stephen Michael, Craig Malcolm, and Jeffrey Howard; grandchildren Tara Miko, Jamie Marie, Amanda Lynn, Erik Michael, Holly Laura, Haley Grace, Regina Rosalia, Stephanie Helen, and Trevor Malcolm; great-grandchildren, Alexis Rose and Mary-Claire Therese; and one brother, Dr. Neal Fredrick.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 East Walnut, with Dr. Bruce Baxter officiating. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday June 14, 2013 in the funeral home.
