Marie S. Coffelt, age 91, was born on April 11, 1913, in Sullivan, Wisconsin, and passed away peacefully on September 13, 2004, in Culpepper Place, Springfield, Missouri.
Marie was a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. She worked as a registered nurse at St. John's Hospital in Springfield for many years, retiring in 1975. Upon her retirement she acted as a volunteer for the American Heart Association by taking blood pressures throughout the community. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Ubena Sharratt, her sister Ruth Sharratt, a sister and brother-in-law, Nellie and Lester Dahlke of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and a brother Roger Sharratt of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Survivors include brothers and sisters-in law, Robert and Ione Sharratt of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Glenn and Jane Sharratt of Wautoma, Wisconsin; a niece and her husband, Jean and Clifford McCormick of Independence, Missouri; and many more nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and a great-great- nephew.
Marie's body has been donated to the University of Missouri Medical School under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 18, in St. Paul United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul UMC, to Community Hospices of Springfield, or to the American Heart Association of Springfield.
