Marian F. Hudson, 90, of Kansas City MO, passed away on March 19th at Northcare Hospice House in Kansas City MO. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, at 10:00 am, Immaculate Conception Church in Springfield, MO. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Mass will be proceeded by a visitation to be held at 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church.
Marian was born June 2, 1920, the daughter of Ludwig L Schmidt and Frances C (Reichmann) Schmidt in St. Louis, MO. She graduated high school from Urseline Academy and college from Harris Teachers College of St. Louis, MO. She taught in St. Louis before moving to Springfield in 1954. Here she taught Kindergarten at St. Joseph Catholic School before leaving to focus on raising her family. She later returned to work at Ramey's Super Market and Harter House. Retirement did not stop her endless energy! She volunteered hundreds of hours at St. John's Hospital and Mercy Villa. She enjoyed bowling with friends and having fun with �The Lunch Bunch". Marian, and special friend Wannel Davidson, also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Schmidt, sister Patricia Martin, and loving husband Jim Hudson. Surviving family members include brother Jim Schmidt; son Thomas Hudson (Elizabeth); daughters Kathleen Fletcher, Susan Bollinger (Steve), Jane Behrensmeyer (Ned), Mary Bingham (Ross) and Trish Williams (Chris). Grandchildren include Jeff Fletcher (Andrea), Sarah Hill (Bryan), Stephanie Pisarski (Walter), Jennifer Bollinger, Grace Behrensmeyer, Mitchell, Cameron and Brandon Owen, Colby and Makenna Williams. Great grandchildren include Katie Geolas and Sophie Hill, and many nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Stewart and the staff at New Mark as well as the staff at Northcare Hospice House who cared for mom in her final days.
