Maria Chmieleski

Maria Chmieleski, 65, of Springfield has gone to be with the Lord and was relieved from her pain and suffering.

Maria was born July 18, 1941 in Medellin, Columbia to Lazaro and Hilme Restrepo. Maria was known as a kind soul with a spirit that touched many. She was a compassionate and loyal friend who brought joy and comfort to many. Maria was a caregiver for hospice for many years in Springfield, assisting many people through difficult times. Her spirit will live on not only through her children but the people that she touched in so many ways. She will be missed by her children and others forever.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Gordon Hurley, Jr. She is survived by her son, Brian Hurley, of Florida; her daughter, Holley Whittmore and her husband, K.C., of Texas; and her sister, Maria Nellie Restrepo, of Columbia.

A memorial visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the start of the service in St. Agnes Cathedral.

Memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday November 17, 2006 in the church with Fr. Fergus Monaghan celebrant under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.hhlohmeyer.com.
