Margie Shank

Margie Shank was born in Waco, MO on July 5, 1932. She departed this life on October 2, 2018.

She was a long-time resident of Springfield, MO having graduated from Central High School and years later from Southwest Missouri State with a Master’s Degree in Accounting. After graduation, she worked as an IRS agent.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Shank—after over 65 years of marriage. Margie is survived by: one sister—Clara; two sons--John and Robert; four grandchildren—Joanna, Stephen, Nathan, and Christine; thirteen great grandchildren.

Margie will be remembered as a loving wife and mother—to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. One highlight of her marriage with Bob was vacationing to see national parks like the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. She sacrificially cared for her husband when his health declined. She was deeply committed to her church: first to Broadway Baptist Church and then to Grant Avenue Baptist Church—including teaching a Sunday School class for years. She was confident in facing death knowing that she was going to see the Lord Jesus and her husband.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Springfield.
