Margarita Magalski, beloved mother of 9 children, grandmother of 18 children, and great-grandmother of 8 children, passed away on September 16th, 2008 at the Primrose Place Healthcare Center in Springfield, MO.
Margarita was a 35-year resident of Waynesville, Missouri, and has been a resident of the Primrose Place Healthcare Center since August 2006. She was born in Panama City, Panama in February 3, 1922. She was married to the late Joseph Magalski, a 32-year Army veteran, for more than 55 years, supporting her husband's military career, working as a licensed-practical nurse, while embedding a deep sense of love and compassion into each of her 9 children. Her very-large family of children, their spouses and several grandchildren were at Margarita's bedside as she departed at approximately 3:59 PM. Margarita is survived by her children Jose and spouse Denise Magalski of Toledo, OH, Linda Anglin of Springfield, MO, Karen and spouse Steven Swarm of Blue Springs, MO, Martha and spouse Michael Ferris of Woodbridge, VA, Veronica and spouse Joseph Herman of Springfield, MO, Michael and spouse Laura Magalski of Woodbridge, VA, Cynthia and spouse James Ruskoski of Tulsa, OK, Mark and spouse Ramona Magalski of San Antonio, TX, and Ronald Magalski of Springfield, MO. The grandchildren include Teresa, Michelle, Joseph III, Racquel, and Quintin Magalski of Perrysville, OH, Anna Malkin of Normal, IL, Michael Ferris of Alameda, Elise Nquyen of Tulsa, OK, Heather Lichtenfels of Woodbridge, VA, Bradley Swarm of Blue Springs, MO, Jonathan Ferris of Minneapolis, MN, Christopher Magalski of San Antonio, TX, Shannon Magalski of Stafford, VA, Matthew Ruskoski of Broken Arrow, OK, Roxanne Ferris of Richmond, VA, Andrew Magalski of Woodbridge, MO, Collin Herman of Springfield, MO, and Shaun Magalski of San Antonio, TX. Great-grandchildren include Phillip, Brennan and Isabella Malkin of Normal, IL, Emiko Ferris of Minneapolis, MN, Cleo Ferris of Alameda, CA, Joshua and Sophia Nguyen of Tulsa, OK, and Regan Lichtenfels of Woodbridge, VA
Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m. in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
