Marc Mcgee

Marc Mitchell McGee, 50, of Springfield, Missouri peacefully entered the gates of heaven on March 26th 2021, with his
soulmate by his side. Marc, was the youngest of 2 children born to Marilyn Dean and Bobby McGee on March 8th 1971.
He grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas with his older brother Gary and his childhood best friend David Blackman, of 40 years.
Marc loved to play basketball, and played in several Hoop It Up tournaments. In 1992, cruising down Kemp street he met
the love of his life, Michelle. They later married in 1995. They had 2 beautiful daughters, Mariah McGee age 26 and
Miranda Koenig age 24. Later in life, they were surprisingly blessed with their son , Maverick McGee age 3.

Marc, our gentle giant, was a man of few words. His size could be intimidating to most, but inside, he was a soft hearted
man. Marc’s heart was bigger than the state of Texas, especially when it came to his wife. She was his best friend and
his other half. He loved playing with his kids, nieces, nephews, and had a soft spot for all of the family pets. If Marc
teased you, he loved you. He loved to drive and travel and recently bought a brand new Kia Telluride that was his pride
and joy. He loved to play his Xbox, and was known as TexasWolf.

Our gentle giant courageously fought a long, hard, cruel Covid battle with all he had for his family. He was in the hospital
for a long 86 days and continued to win battles that even surprised the doctors and nurses caring for him. Although
Marc was a man of few words, in the last few weeks, he found new ways to express his love and gratitude for his family.
Marc made sure those close to him knew that he loved them and how much he cared.

Marc is survived by his wife of 26 years, Michelle, his two daughters Mariah and Miranda, son Maverick and son-in-law
Reid Koenig, his mother Marilyn Dean, and his brother Gary McGee, his mother in law Susan Austin, father-in-law Barry
Austin and father in law Marvin Walls, his sister in law, Jennifer Arismendi and brother in-law, Giovanni Arismendi, 3
nephews, 2 nieces, and his cousins John and Jack Wachtendorf. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert “PoPo” Tompkins.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the many prayers, and the people that have supported them
throughout this battle, including the staff at St Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and Cox South Hospital in
Springfield, Missouri.

A celebration of life will be held in remembrance of Marc on March 30th, 2021 at 11am at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
Church at 2200 W Republic Rd. Springfield, Missouri 65807. In lieu of flowers, there has been a GoFundMe set up in
Marc’s name to help support his family in his absence. We appreciate your continued prayers and support.
