Malcolm Patterson

Pat Patterson
Malcolm Karl Patterson, 76, born September 8, 1937 to George Richard and Violet Fern (Douglas) Patterson in Pendleton, Oregon, passed from the loving and caring servants of Mercy Hospice into the peace and joy of our Heavenly Father on October 4, 2013 at 11:15 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Dorothy Lorraine (Jahnsen) Patterson, born October 25, 1937 in San Francisco, CA; his three children, Karl Richard Patterson, Michelle Sharene Moore (husband William Lee Moore II) and Jeremy Patrick Patterson (wife Kellie Marie Mullin); one grandson, Tyler Jeremy Patterson, one year old; one sister, Jeanne Patterson; and many step-children.
Pat was a fun loving rascal. He had a hard rugged life starting as a young lad working before and after school on his parents’ dairy farm in Pendleton, OR. He left home at an early age and joined the Navy where he learned the art of welding which became his main source of income for over 30 years, working for the “Boilers” union as a welder/foreman. He was also a professional boxer, bouncer and stuntman.
He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints February 14, 1985 and has never wavered in his strong testimony. He loved missionary work and was a “Ward Mission Leader” and Temple endowment worker in the Bay Area, Oakland, CA. He loved playing golf with all his “golfing buddies”, watching Tiger Woods, the Broncos, and BYU football on TV. But most of all he loved God, family, and the USA. Fare thee well Good and Faithful Servant of the Lord till we meet again.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 8, 2013 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Republic Ward, 4450 South Farm Rd 141 (Cox Road off of Republic Road), under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, if you feel so inclined, you may donate to the General Missionary Fund to Bishop Wade Smith, 7190 W. Farm Rd 168, Republic, MO 65738
