Lucille Nelson

Lucille M. Nelson, 88, formerly of Galva, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 following a brief illness. She was married to John Nelson and they lived for many years in Galva, raising their two sons and working at Lily Tulip until they moved to Springfield, Missouri in the 1975.

Lucille was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Galva and later joined the Messiah Lutheran Church in Springfield. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and watching birds, but her favorite times were the ones spent with her family.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, John, and a sister, Glendora Jacobsen. She is survived by her two sons, Kenny and his wife, Debbie of Ozark, Missouri, and Alan of Hayward, California. She also leaves behind 3 grandsons, 5 great grandchildren, a niece, Karen Walters of Peoria, Illinois, and 3 great nieces along with their families. We will all miss her love and her easy smile; her wisdom and her kindness.

A private family service will be held in Springfield, Missouri at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Messiah Lutheran Church in Springfield, Missouri.
