Lucille Isabell Prokop Hamby, 78. Born April 20, 1937 in Ambridge, PA; died January 23, 2016.
Graduate of Ambridge High School, 1955, Ambridge, PA, and the University of Alabama in 1959.
Lucille was an avid reader and a lifelong college football fan, especially Alabama and any team which played opposite Auburn, Penn State and particularly Notre Dame, and her hobbies over the years included crossword puzzles, cross-stitch, defending the proper usage of English, and the enjoyment of bad puns.
She is survived by her children Leslie (Tom) Catrett of Montgomery, AL, Tracy Hamby of Little Rock, AR, Jeffrey (Kim) Hamby of Walton, KY and Matthew (Barbara) Hamby of Springfield, and grandchildren Jason, Katherine and Steven of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren P. Hamby, sisters, Katherine Scharf and Barbara Martin, and brother Stanley Prokop.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 28, 2016 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday January 27, 2016 in the funeral home, with Rosary services starting at 5:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery Mobile, Alabama, with a memorial service in Mobile at a later date.
