Louise E. Martin, 94, formerly of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
The youngest child and only daughter of Charles C. and Belle Z. Paules, she was born April 11, 1921, in Ft. Laramie, Wyoming. She attended Barnes Business School in Denver, Colorado, and held many professional positions as an accountant and bookkeeper in Denver and later in Springfield. In 1961, she met and married Isaac F. Martin, Jr., “Bud Martin,” and together, they founded Ike Martin Music Company which operated as a network of stores throughout Missouri for almost 50 years. She always enjoyed driving and exploring the beauty of the United States behind the wheel. Up until her last days, she frequently requested to go riding in her car.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers (Byron, Harold, Leon, and Evan Paules), and her husband Bud.
She is survived by fourteen nieces and nephews, her daughter, Carolyn K. Pittman, and son-in-law, Bradley R. Pittman, and three grandchildren, Connor, Carson, and Claire Pittman, of Yorktown, Virginia.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday evening at Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield. Services will be Thursday at 11:30 am at Messiah Lutheran Church followed by burial in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
