Louis "Wimpy" Lohmeyer passed away April 14th "Good Friday", 2006 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Louis was born Dec. 27, 1922 in Springfield Missouri to Herman and Mabel Lohmeyer. He was a graduate of St. Agnes High School. He attended Drury University and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Louis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Rednour. He married Patricia Evans on October 31, 1953. They have 3 children, Mike, Liz, and Kari. Louis worked with his father at the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. He then worked for his father-in-law, Don Evans at the Evans Drug Company. He later became an owner of the Heritage and Mrs. O'Mealeys Cafeterias. Wimpy was an avid fisherman who loved his summers on Deer Lake in Minnesota with his family and fishing buddies. He was extremely devoted to his Catholic faith and church. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mabel, a sister Roberta, and brothers, Herbie and Gene. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 52 years, Patricia Jane Lohmeyer. He is survived by his son, Mike Lohmeyer and wife Judy, his daughters, Liz Consalus and husband John, Kari Manzardo and husband Joey : seven grandchildren, Mark, Sally, Ben, and Sarah Lohmeyer, Christopher Consalus, and Andrew and August Manzardo, and one great grandchild Jaden Lohmeyer. A sister, Mary Ann Johnston, close family friend, Joanna White, a brother, Robert Lohmeyer, and his beloved pets, Katie, Becky, and Twiggers. Memorial Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, and The Southwest Missouri Humane Society, or charity of choice. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Ray O'Connor, CMF and Fr. Frank Iacona, CMF concelebrants. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 with prayer service to follow in the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.hhlohmeyer.com.
