Lois Roseboom

Lois was born in Bradford, PA the only child of Homer C. and Alsina O. Frankenfield on February 15, 1926.
She graduated from Port Alleghany High School, Port Alleghany, PA in 1944 and attended Penn State University while her fiancé served in the Pacific as a Marine in World War II. She married Morris King Roseboom, the love of her life on March 17, 1946. They celebrated 66 years together on March 17.
Lois is survived by her husband Morris of Springfield, MO, three daughters; Dawn C. Thomas, Raytown, MO, Barbara L. Robinson (Jim), Raymore, MO, Mary Lee Hamilton (Jim), Springfield, MO, seven grandchildren; Zachary Robinson, Riley Hamilton (Emma), Leah Hamilton and Lane Hamilton, all of Springfield, Lindsay Thomas Wirt (Brian), Battle Creek, MI, Dr. Carrie Robinson, Norfolk, VA and Preston Thomas, Raytown, MO.
In 1947, Lois and Morris moved from PA to Sedalia, MO. After working for several employers she began a 23 year career at Bothwell Hospital, first in the medical records department and then as Personnel Director until her retirement. During her time at the hospital, she and a friend were instrumental in starting a program for abused women by answering hotline telephone calls. She remained active as a volunteer for Sedalia elementary reading programs and the Open Door Kitchen and clothing bank. She was a member of First Christian Church in Sedalia and was active in many church activities, including the pie auction and choir. Avid travelers, she and Morris traveled to every U.S. State, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
She was a wonderful grandmother and she and Morris took their grandchildren on many trips. Lois was well known for her baking and quilting. She played bridge in several clubs and supported the Sedalia Symphony and local theatre productions. She was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for many years. Lois and Morris recently moved to Springfield, MO to be close to family.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2012 at First Christian Church, Sedalia, MO. Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or First Christian Church in Sedalia. No visitation is planned.
