Mr. Levi Anthony Gagne, 79 of Springfield passed away at 9:30 a.m. Sunday Sept. 26, 2010 in Cox South Hospital.

Levi was born Aug. 8, 1931 in Spencer, Mass. to Orelle and Almina (Boulrice) Gagne. He retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant First Class. He was an avid woodworker and loved the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and he was a western style gun shooter.

Levi was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Irene Barbara.

He is survived by his wife Vincenza; his children, Veronica Wetherholt and her husband Dwight, Michael A. Gagne and Theresa Corbin; his grandchildren, Michael S. Gagne, David and Meghan Wetherholt, Paige and Lauren Gagne, Jenna, Candice and Brandon Corbin; his siblings, David Gagne and Gloria Dupuis.

Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Sept. 30, 2010 in St. Agnes Cathedral with Fr. Mike McDevitt celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary service starting at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
