Leonore Lipin

Leonore C. Lipin, 92, died April 22, 2011, at St. John's Mercy Villa in Springfield, MO. She was born on October 22, 1918, in Harrisburg, PA, to Edward and Mary Sourbier. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD, and on February 4, 1941, married Dr. Raymond Lipin (who preceded her in death). Her parents preceded her in death, as did her sisters, Rita Newbaker (Charles), Weezie Phelan and her husband Bill and Margie Minogue and her husband, Robert.

As wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt Leonore was always loving and giving to her husband, her children and their families, and her many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She faithfully prayed her rosary novena year after year and when she came to Mercy Villa to live, she attended rosary and Mass each day in their chapel.

Leonore is survived by her six children: Raymond (Donna) of Little Rock, AR; Rita of Springfield, MO; Carol Speyerer (Frank) of Arlington, TX; John (Denise) of Little Rock, AR; Thomas (Jeanne) of Tequesta, FL; Edward (Donna) of Baltimore, MD; a brother-in-law Charles Newbaker and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass of Resurrection will take place at St. Agnes Cathedral on April 27, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Little Rock, Arkansas, on April 28, 2011. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the church.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Mercy Villa and Hospice Compassus for the gentle, loving care that they gave to their mother, Leonore.
