Leona "Tommie" Phillips, 93, Springfield, passed away at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in St. John's Hospital.
She was born November 20, 1913 in Copperhill, Tennessee to J.R. and Dora (Tanner) Thomas. She married Virgil Phillips on August 27, 1934.
Tommie was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her siblings, Orne Thomas, Eston Willard (Brudge) Thomas, Reba Thomas Tate.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Mr. Gary Thomas, and his wife Faye, of Harrisburg, Illinois, Mrs. Sandra Haddock, and her husband Ronald, of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Cande Thomas, of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs, Gwen Spuhler, and her husband Michael of Cape Coral, Florida; her brother-in-law, Wilburn Tate; her sister-in-law Alpha Thomas; and many other great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday June 7, 2007. There are no services planned at this time.
