Leo Sayers

Leo Anthony Sayers, 93 was born November 24, 1911 in Springfield, Missouri. He was the son of Anton and Barbara (Boll) Sayer. Leo Passed away Nov. 13, 2005 in Mercy Villa. He proudly served his country in WWII. Leo retired from the Frisco Railroad after many years of faithful service.

Leo was preceded in death by his spouse Mae; his parents; his brother, Bernard and two sisters.

He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Florence Rhea of Springfield; also survived by his nieces and nephews, Debbie and Marvin Fremerman of Springfield, Cody and Judy Hanna of Buffalo, John and Beverly Brown and Tony Sayer all of Springfield.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Denis Dougherty, OSB celebrant. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut St. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time in the church.

The family is grateful for the good care extended by Joy Assisted Living and the staff of Mercy Villa who made Leo's final days comfortable and peaceful.
