Lawrence Keith Rose was born July 15, 1936 in Britton, South Dakota son of John and Genevieve Rose and departed this life on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at the age of 73.

When Lawrence was two years old he and his parents moved to Delano, Washington near Grand Coulee Dam. He attended elementary school in Everett, Washington. In 1947 he moved to Santa Ana, California. While there he graduated from Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana College in 1957 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Social Science. He attended Long Beach State College and graduated from Southern California College in Costa Mesa, California in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science.

On May 22, 1964 he was united in marriage with Valetha Rose Unruh of Hutchinson, Kansas. They moved to Laguna Beach, California where they lived for 2 1/2 years pastoring in Laguna Beach and being assistant pastor in Tustin before moving to Kansas. In Kansas they pastored in Louisburg and Independence for a total of 21 years.

In 1989 they moved to Springfield, Missouri. While there Lawrence attended the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary graduating in 1996 with a Master of Devinity Degree.

To this union were born three daughters, Celeste Royal of Snellville, Georgia; Melody Kirkpatrick of Dyer, Tennessee; and Melissa LeClare of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Lawrence is survived by his wife Valetha, his daughters, Celeste and her husband Dennis, Melody and her husband Mark, Melissa and her husband, Tom, five grandchildren, two brothers, Clare of Springfield, Missouri and John of Phoenix, Arizona; along with a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Thursday July 8, 2010 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street. Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday July 9, 2010 in Central Assembly of God Chapel with Dr. George O. Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery.
