Laura Lohkamp

Laura Ann Lohkamp, age 42, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at St. John's Regional Health Center. Laura was born on July 29, 1966 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Fred and Carol Cobb. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Michael; her daughter Samantha; her son Curtis; her mother, Donna; her brothers and their spouses, Robert "Chris" and his wife Ondrea, John, David and his wife Jennifer, and Joseph and his wife Janelle; her sisters, Susan "Kay" and Mary Pyles and her husband Mike; and many other family members and friends.

Laura was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, Missouri. Laura worked in the cafeteria at Glendale High School and enjoyed going to the lake, watching sports, and spending time with her family. Laura was a source of strength for her entire family and has showed everyone what "fighting" really means.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 4, 2009 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Wednesday June 3, 2009 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with prayer services starting at 7 p.m.

The family wishes to thank all of Laura's friends and the doctors, nurses, and patient care associates at St. John's who helped to care for Laura during her hospitalizations. Laura will continue to be an inspiration of strength and courage to all of us. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
