Kunigunda Kreider passed from this earth on April 3, 2015. She passed peacefully in her home and farm at Nixa Missouri. She was 83 years old. People who knew her called her Gunda.
Gunda was born in Wallersberg, Bavaria, Germany on December 10th 1931 to Andreas and Maria (Zeis) Bienlein. Gunda survived WWII then in 1953 met the love of her life James David Kreider. She came to the states with her husband and first child Jim in 1955 and became a United States citizen in 1956. Together they had four children, James Andreas (Jim) Kreider, David Alfred (Dave) Kreider, Robert Phillip (Robbie) Kreider and Barbara Teresa (Barbie) Kreider - Luce. All graduates of Nixa Schools.
Gunda is blessed with 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two daughter in laws Debbie (Neil) Kreider, Jane (Aldredge) Kreider, and a son in law George Luce.
Gunda was preceded in death by her mother Maria in 1940, husband James David in 1970 due to a farm accident, a brother Alfred Bienlein, and her father Andreas Bienlein.
Gunda and her husband James David moved from Greene County to Nixa in 1964 purchasing a farm on AA Highway and recently celebrated the farm’s 50th year of production. She was a lifelong devoted catholic and a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Gunda was always involved with her children at Nixa schools. She was a big supporter of the Nixa FFA - Future Farmers of America, the Nixa band program, and Nixa Sports. At one time she even coached a little league baseball team. Everyone was welcome at her home and farm especially the friends of her sons and daughter. No one ever went away hungry. She enjoyed the company of young people very much.
Gunda was active in the Democratic Party advising and campaigning for her son Jim Kreider who served in the Missouri House of Representatives 1993 to 2003 as well as many other successful candidates.
