Kimberly Lynn Rainey passed away at 8:30 am on Friday October 25, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. She was born December 21, 1962 in Springfield, Missouri to VeraLee Williams and Thomas Roper. She was a mother of 3 sons, Edward Williams, David Rainey and Thomas Rainey.

Kimberly graduated from Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and served her country in the US ARMY as Quartermaster Specialist. Kimberly was employed with AmeriCorps prior to beginning her journey with breast cancer. She served God in her church, where she worked on the Hospitality Committee and was a faithful member of the Beauty in Progress Women’s Ministry. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and mentoring youth and young adults and helping others. She was also involved with various volunteer efforts.

She was preceded in death by her Father in Zion, Darrell J Hurst and cousin Rayetta Lucas.

She is survived by her three sons, parents, aunts; Edna Adams and Shirley Rainey, uncles; Joseph Rainey, Jake Cooper and Billy Cooper, sisters; Teresa Williams, Andrea Williams, Monique Hurst, Michelle Bickham, Denise Sexton, Lark Leet, Darielle Shy, brothers; Darrell Williams, Gregory Williams, Richard Williams, Brad Roper and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday Nov. 1, 2013 in Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 2548 N. Fremont. Burial with military honors will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday Oct. 31, 2013 in Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home 500 E. Walnut Street.
