Ken lived a life and took it one day at a time focused on his family and career. He served his nation in the Air Force for 25 years. He hailed from Tondawanda, NY,
but made a life for himself and his family in the Monett area of South West Missouri. He was an active member of the VFW and retired as owner of the Monett Broadway Gas & Company. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring and maintaining classic hot rods as well as spending time with his grandchildren. Ken is preceded in death by his father Kenneth J. Hartel Sr.. He is survived by his mother Dorothy Hartel of Tondawanda, NY, his brothers, Dennis Hartel of New York City and James Hartel of Franklin, New York, and one sister, Connie Skinner from Martinsburg, West Virginia, children Jacob Hartel, Gordon Hartel, Clifford Hartel, Joshua Hartel and Kenneth J. Hartel III, Angela Hartell, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Bennett-Wormington funeral home in Monett, Mo at 2:00 pm on Thursday, 12th September. Pernanent online condolences, photos and stories
