Kenneth Burfield

Kenneth Burfield resided on his farm in a valley near Fordland, MO for 47 years. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and his two daughters, Rhonda, and Kimberly. He has 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Kenny and Cindy were married 59 years. Kenny was a man of God, protecting his family throughout his life. He was likened to St. Joseph the Protector. Even when he could no longer do for himself he would point out to his wife things like, “Turn that handle around to be safe.” Or “Watch out, I see something in your path on the floor.”

Ken was a loving father, a good Catholic and gentle to his family, rarely, if ever admonishing his children. Cindy will state that he never laid a hand on either of them. Neighbors say he was always there if anyone needed anything. He never declined if he was asked to help out in some way. He was gifted with the ability to fix anything, wire anything, build anything the farm required and kept impeccable finances. His tractor seemed to belong to the whole valley of neighbors.

Cindy and Kenny lived in harmony even when she would get so out of sorts and the children looked worried. He would put his arm around Cindy, look at the kids and say with a smile, “Mama lost her cool.” Cindy would tell you that she could never stay aggravated after that. Ken always allowed people to be themselves letting them express their opinions. It is said of Ken that there is no record of him ever saying anything negative about anyone. He strived to keep harmony in the entire family.
